WAROC

O-TRIAL WEEKEND CANCELLED

We’re very sorry to announce that despite our very best efforts we are unable to put on either the Saturday Short Race or the Sunday O Trial.

We’ve been trying all week to gain access to the main Forestry Commission car park at Grizedale. The original Day 1 forest road parking is inaccessible due to snow and Pike of Blisco is more suited to ice axe and crampons than O shoes.

Unfortunately due to the weather, the Forestry Commission have decided that the car park will remain closed for safety reasons, despite being sympathetic to our request. There is no other parking and we have no alternative but to cancel both days.

The overprinted maps will be used for a future event, either a re-scheduled O-Trial 2010, in the summer, or for the O-Trial 2011 next January.

We will contact you soon to arrange refunds or you can carry over your entry to when the event is next held.

If you are looking for an alternative, there is a permanent course - Bilbo's Cafe Challenge - on footpaths and in Skelghyll Woods. Maps / Start / Finish at Bilbo's Cafe, Lakes Runner Shop, 3-4 Cheapside, Ambleside LA22 0AB. There are also Loughrigg Fell maps on sale at the shop.

National Team training will be moved to alternative venues, to be finalised at the Home Farm accommodation on Friday.

Apologies again for this eleventh hour cancellation.

Best wishes

Warrior OC.
